Welcome!  I am a clinical psychologist and enjoy working with teenagers, college students, and adults in my Park Slope office.  I strive to provide a safe, nurturing, and compassionate space; one that will allow you to talk openly, gain new insights, practice new skills, and thrive.

I often work with teenagers on improving self-esteem, bullying, conflict with peers or family, chronic illness, identity development, anxiety, depression, coming out, and gender identity.  We work together, focusing on identifying strengths, creating space to express and experience the full range of emotions, gaining insight, finding creative solutions to difficult problems, learning new skills, and focusing on ways to make life meaningful.  Typically, parents also become involved in our work, strengthening relationships between teens and their parents.  I will happily collaborate with schools, other providers, and important systems.

With adults, the focus of our work is often depression, anxiety, chronic illness, coping with an unexpected or ongoing stressor, life transition, grief, family conflict, coming out, and gender identity.  Sometimes the presenting problem is new and sometimes it’s an ongoing source of discomfort, that has been worked on in various ways through the years.  We will work on two levels- gaining insight, while also learning tools and strategies to reduce your pain.  Ultimately, I hope to help you refocus on what gives your life meaning and purpose.
